Ano ba ang stress paano ba nagkakaroon nito at gumagawa ba kayo ng paraan para mawala ito? O binabaleawala na lang ba nyo ito? Ano ba ang epekto nito sa ating sarili sa pang araw araw nating ginagawa? Madali ba tayong magalit pag may stress tayo? Ano ba sa tagalog ang stress?

In medical terms, stress is a physical or psychological stimulus that can produce mental or physiological reactions that may lead to illness.Technically speaking, stress is a disruption of homeostasis, which may be triggered by alarming experiences, either real or imaginary.

Both negative and postive stressors can lead to stress.

Pain
Bright light
Elevated sound levels
Events: births, deaths, rape, war, reunions, weddings, divorce, moving, chronic illness, loss of role, identity, meaning.
Responsibilities: Unpaid bills, lack of money
Work/study: exams, rush hour traffic, project deadlines,
Personal relationships: conflict, deception, bullying
Lifestyle: poor eating habits, tobacco smoking, heavy drinking, insufficient sleep
Exposure to stress early on in life can permanently enhance the stress response (e.g. abused children)
Aging

Mental responses to stress include adaptive stress (eustress), anxiety, and depression. Where stress enhances function (physical or mental) it may be considered good stress. However, if stress persists and is of excessive degree, it eventually leads to a need for resolution, which may lead either to anxious (escape) or depressive (withdrawal) behavior.

One may further appreciate from that definition that stress may derive from imagined experiences such as frightening movies. Further, the fulcrum of stress response is the presence of disparity between experience (real or imagined) and personal expectations. A person living in a fashion consistent with personally-accepted expectations has no stress even if the conditions might be interpreted as adverse from some outside perspective � rural people may live in comparative poverty, and yet be unstressed if there is a sufficiency according to their expectations. Finally, when there is chronic disparity between experience and expectations, stress may be relieved by acceptance. However, since acceptance is rarely complete except in children, stress resolution by this approach is also rarely complete. It has been said that stress is often a reaction to a crisis of predictability, that the mind is solely an instrument of prediction, and that the body may be divided into a vegetative process and an integrative process.

Ano sa tagalog ang stress? Paano ang ginagawa ng iba o ikaw para labanan ito? Kadalasan palagay ko ay binabalewala na lang ito kasi di nila alam na mayroon sila nito?

Ano ang STRESS o tensiyon?
Ang istres ay ang pagtugon ng ating katawan sa mga pangangailangan pisikal at pangkaisipan.

Ang istres ay hindi problema na nasa isipan lamang. Ang ating katawan ay may pangkagipitang pagtugon na nangyayari kapag tayo ay nakararamdam ng tensiyon o istres. Halimbawa, kapag tayo ay kailangang humabol sa bus, ang bahagi ng ating katawan ay naghahanda para matugunan ang kagipitan o emerdyensi. Ang pagtugon na ito ay tumutulong para tayo makatakbo ng mabilis at umabot sa bus. Ang pagpintig ng puso ay bumibilis at ang presyon ng dugo ay tumataas. Lumalabas ang syugar patungo sa dugo. Ang paghinga ay bumibilis. Ang ibang bahagi ng katawan ay bumabagal. Ang pantunaw ay humihina. Ang sistema ng ating katawan na lumalaban sa sakit ay bahagyang sumasara. Kapag tayo ay nakasakay na sa bus, ang ating katawan ay dali-daling nagre-relaks. Kailangan ng ating katawan ang pagkakataong ito para makapagpahinga at makabawi matapos dumanas ng istres. Ang mga manggagawa ay nasa panganib na magkaproblema sa kalusugan kung ang katawan nila ay parating tumutugon sa tensiyon o istres at hindi nakababalik agad sa panatag na kalooban.

-Regular ng pag eehersisyo
-Pagkakaroon ng sapat na tulog
-Masustansiyang pagkain
-Pagbawas sa paggamit ng caffeine at alkohol
-Pagsubok sa mga ehersisyong nakare-relaks tulad ng yoga, paghinga ng malalim o pagninilay-nilay (meditation)
-Pagsasabi ng inyong nararamdaman sa taong mayroon kayong pagtitiwala

Ayon sa mga scientists mayroong dalawang uri ng stress.

Eustress and Distress.

Eustress is positive stress. Ito ang nararamdaman ng isang dalaga kapag dumarating na ang kanyang manliligaw at may daladalang flowers.

Eustress din ang tawag sa stress na nararanasan ng mga nagwo- work-out when they are doing their exercises. Ang mga athletes, pagkatapos na ma-stress ang kanilang muscles, they rest para ma-repair ang kanilang muscles. Kapag hindi sila nagpahinga, the stressed muscles will be injured.

When injury happens, yan ang distress.

Distress is the negative side of stress.

Nakakaramdam ka na ng sakit ng ulo, pagsakit ng tiyan, hindi na makatulog, di pa makakain.

Distress ang uri ng stress na nagreresulta sa kung ano-anong sakit tulad ng hypertension, minsan nga ay emotional breakdown pa.

Ano ba ang pwede nating gawin para ang stress natin ay hindi maging distress?

Dr. John Maxwell has the following suggestions:

Don't be overly sensitive to criticism.

Tanggapin na natin ang katotohanang hindi natin kayang i-please ang lahat ng tao. Talagang mayroong hindi aayon sa iyo kahit na napaka-noble ng iyong mga intentions and motives. So when you receive criticisms, take it constructively kung sensible ang criticism. If you think the criticism is not objective, huwag na lang pansinin at ng hindi ka ma-distress.

Don't take too much pride in your achievements. Ang pride ay parang uling, ginagatungan niyan ang distress. Ang taong proud ay mas lalong nadi-distress dahil masyado niyang iniingatan ang kanyang achievement at accomplishment.

Minsan nga our achievements hinder us from growing and learning kasi sinasabi natin sa ating sarili, aba may na-accomplish na ko. Mas mahusay ako kaysa sa iba, hindi na nila ko pwedeng turuan. Ang lungkot ng buhay kapag naging ganyan ang attitude natin. Don't harbor jealousy over the achievement of others.

Ang taong mainggitin madalas ding madistress, kasi nga totoo namang mayroong mas higit kaysa sa atin.

Natural ang iba ay maaaring magkaroon ng achievements na wala tayo di ba. Instead of being jealous or envious, let's learn to rejoice in the successes of others.

Malay mo malibre ka pa bogchi dahil nakikigalak ka sa kanilang tagumpay, di ba?

Don't focus on your weaknesses and inadequacies. Ang sugat kapag mas lalo mong ginalaw mas lalong lalala at baka maimpeksyon.

The more you focus on your weaknesses and inadequacies the bigger the tendency of wallowing in self-pity.

While it is important to acknowledge your inadequacies, it is helpful to focus on your strengths and capabilities.
