TOPIC: HDMI problem

HDMI problem 1 year, 5 months ago #274111

hi guys, im having problem with my hdmi cable going from pc to lcd tv.
my set up is emaxxtech mobo EMX-ANF82HD-PRO with amd processor. and im using windows 7 for my OS. the mobo has a built in video card, geforce 8200 and i also have a pcie external vid card nvidia geforce 9500gts.

im using dvi for my monitor from the pcie vid card. and they have provided a hdmi slot from the internal vid card which i would like to connect to my hdtv to watch movies. problem is when i connect my hdmi to my hdtv there is no signal detected by my hdtv, but on the pc side, checking for the display settings.a dual display is already detected by my pc. all drivers and settings are already in place.

i was suspecting that my hdmi cable is busted, so i tried using a different hdmi cable. but still to no avail. i still have the same problem.

need your expert opinions mga bossing. tnx and more power to ulop!!

if you are connectiong your hdtv to the motherboard's HDMI, it wont work, since you are using a descreet Vc (9500gt), the 9500gt will act as your default video controller, try connecting your HDTV to your 9500gt's hdmi port if there is..

hi jack. thats the problem my 9500 doesn't have one. thats is why i have to connect it in my mobo.
i will try removing the pcie and use only the built in vid card. hope it will work. tnx for the info

try using only one output

remove the dvi connection, then disable the dual display option in your video card

connect your lcd directly to your PC's video card using the HDMI cable, then turn on the PC

do not connect your hdmi cable to you motherboard's hdmi port, because most hdmi port that is built-in with the motherboard is for audio only, you cannot use it for video

if your video card does not have an hdmi port then use an hdmi to dvi cable or converter

for the sound to work you have to connect it directly to your home theater system/stereo using the appropriate cable or you can use your current PC speakers

or you can just use the vga cable to connect your display to your LCD TV, check the back of your LCD TV if it has a vga port
